Project Mission & Vision
The latest National Broadband Plan, recently released by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has set a grandiose long-term objective for the United States: to achieve what the Harvard University Berkman Center has coined "next-generation connectivity." To achieve this feat, according to the Berkman Center, two interconnected objectives must be met: the deployment of high-bandwidth capacity (best achieved through the nearly unlimited capacity of fiber) and providing users with seamless and ubiquitous connectivity.
The Central Valley Next Generation Broadband Infrastructure Project has a mission to drive the implementation of such a robust network infrastructure, fundamentally altering the ways in which citizens in the 18 counties covered by the project learn, work, and live together for the better. The project's vision is to propel California to the forefront of this technological revolution, becoming the first state to achieve "next-generation connectivity" capabilities, and providing ubiquitous access to all its citizens. By contributing to this grand goal through the Central Valley Ne

xt Generation Broadband Infrastructure Project, we will make this vision a reality.
